Gulbis is not a ballbasher, he has better touch, feel and variety than most players on tour, he certainly makes the big hitters at the top of the game (bar perhaps Tsonga) look one dimensional in comparison.

My point still stands that he can't have his GOAT performances often, and he simply cannot get to the top. He might occasionally beat a top player, but he cannot keep it up. That is a fact.

Re: Peak Rosol vs Peak Gulbis WWW?
I thought this thread was a WWW between peak Gulbis and peak Rosol. which is why i went for Rosol. because peak Gulbis can only last a set or 2 before he gets bored hungry or horny- peak Rosol can play at a high level for 5 sets.
In terms of natural talent then yes Gulbis has far more at his disposal than Rosol but Gasquet 'apparently' has more 'talent' than Nadal so go figure!

He doesn't need to play GOAT tennis every match to be a top 20/15 player.

Not what I said. I said that he can't just "decide" to be a top player, and that he may look amazing when he plays his occasional GOAT match but he honestly isn't good at all when he's at his normal level. He either plays insanely well or insanely poor, and it's mostly the latter.

It is not a fact though. He's been held back solely by his poor work ethic, anyone can recognize the immense potential he has in his game. He has more to his game than any of the big hitters at the top of the game (although none of his shots is as destructive as Delpo's FH). He's the post child for underachievers in this current generation.

Top 10 at the very least. He has no less tools than a guy like Tsonga, well on the contrary (his BH is a weapon and he can actuallyr return serve).

He can't keep up a decent level, it doesn't have to do with his work ethic. He simply cannot do it, and the "I don't give a shit" attitude is just an excuse.

Oh god lenders you have now wet dreams even with mugs like Gulbis? Nishikori... Mugbis... whats next? the only respectful thing you defend is Delpo.
"amazing serve" lol you are so funny when you try to overhype players you like and understimate players you dislike (Ferrer best e.g.)
