Ah, looked it up.

Three time winner there; 2000, 2002, 2004.

Yeah, true. I hope they can go deep here AND be fresh for WTF, playing two weeks in a row isn't that demanding especially with a weakened draw here in Bercy. Still hope Tsonga takes it, he's at home and loves this tournament.

Both Tsonga and Berdych can push for number 5 next year, maybe even number 4 depending on Nadal. This is the perfect chance to make up a huge amount of ground with a fairly weak field for a Masters event. I know Ferrer is still there but if he and Tsonga win today I do expect Tsonga to win tomorrow, no doubt about that.

Both Tsonga and Berdych made smart decisions taking last week off (or at least retire early on like Tsonga did), they are both good and fit enough to put 2 weeks of great tennis together. Also it's not as if they're going to have to fly off to Shanghai right after the final if they make it, London is practically next door and they'll be guaranteed not to play the Monday so not much of a big issue there either.

I agree; how can any of them think that this is worth blowing off? I bet Tsonga an Berdych thought the Masters titles would flow easily after they got their first one: how long ago was that?

They will never have a better shot, either. Those 1000 points are good for a year; they are like insurance against other bad results.

True. Especially Berdych could use these points to finally get a career high ranking in the top 5. But hopefully not at the expense of a great WTF showing.

This is true. Both have scheduled wisely to make a final push at Bercy and WTF. I really hope they can both have big runs at both tournaments, especially Berdych to finally grab top 5 or at least give himself a great chance to do so early next year.

Tsonga is 8th in the race, he's nowhere near fighting for 4th. Even if he won Bercy, provided Berdych doesn't go out in the QFs, he would only be 7th!!

I think if Berdy gets through Simon, he's definitely the favorite. I'm rooting for him, he'd be the least random TMS winner out of this bunch. I don't think Tsonga is in the right mentality.

If Berdy or Tsonga what to challenge Ferrer, they have to make their moves here, I agree.

yeah. Especially if they end up in the Murray group, they won't be the favorite to get out of group. best to make their move here and hope the high carries them into WTF on head of steam.

Not really, I like Berdych's chances against Murray indoors. Only player I fear for Berdych in London is Djokovic and that's for obvious reasons, everyone else is beatable.

But lets see, Simon will be tough tomorrow as it is, seems like a good court for him and will have the crowd behind him so it will be quite interesting.
