Well if you aren't beating the other very top players, then in my book you are not a #1 player for sure, it's the big matches that count most. He'll either lose the QF to Tipsy, or make the final and lose to Andy/Fed.

You just discover this? He is not confident nowadays.
Let's see when it ends.
Murray in 08-09 has a good win-loss record against other 3. Everyone has ups and downs.

In 2009 he lost 4 Masters Final to the other 3, in 2010 he did not win over top 10 until US Open Semis.....

Yes. Djokovic is probably the biggest confidence player in the top 4. Without confidence he is nothing.

I really hope they are all fit and make it to the end of the upcoming tournaments, big 4 matches w/o Nadal are hard to predict.

With his draw I expect to breeze to the semis and route a half dead opponent to arrive in the finals.

The fact is, success in DC is largely determined by what country you come from or play for in the first place, which most players haven't had any control over.

A slump? Well, a QF showing in USO was not good. But the Cincinnatti win was convincing. I'd say it takes more than one poor tournament to constitute a slump. But I guess we'll see how Shanghai goes.

By the way, this thread was about Djokovic, you probably shouldn't discuss Federer here, plenty of other threads for that.
