Murray I believe lost all 250 from not replaying Bangkok, and then for only making the SF here in Tokyo he loses some more big points. He likely won't win Shanghai again, in fact I don't think he'll make it past the SF, so that's another 640 point loss.

Murray is bound to finish 2012 #3. Rafa/Ferrer for #4 and #5 (probably Rafa stays 4 and Ferrer 5 or lower), and the battle for #1 and #2 is between Rogie and Djokovic.
Murray was never getting to #1 this year. With our without this title.

The last guy who defended this title was Pete Sampras in 1994. It's just not meant to be I suppose.

Andy was outplayed for most of the match and then didn't take his chances in the 3rd. Milos deserved to win here.

He wanted to win the match but the top players never reach their peak level in the 500 series tournaments, how often do we see this?

Big win for Milos but really means nothing in the grand scheme of things, kind of like when Chardy beat him, lets slow down before we start anointing Milos.

Monaco could potentially win Valencia again I guess, that's 500pts. Isner perhaps? He was great in Bercy last year.

And I did expect this match to be close so the 2nd part is true too, you can't tell me what I do and don't expect

This court was much faster than Ashe and the chances that Murray was gonna play as well as he did in round 4 of the US Open was slim, that was the best he's played in a while, he was totally unbeatable that day, even a decent Murray is beatable by Milos on this court if Milos play well and he proved just that.

He lost 2x vs Roger in final set tie-break i think so this is what he meant probably - he has beaten top guy in close match - finally - he even lost to Roddick in Memphis final in close match, he really was loosing close matches vs top guys so far.

Idk, I mean he seemed very upset at losing points, but he gave up games pretty easily and distractedly. I don't think he was very focused here. I knew yesterday after the first set against Wawrinka, when ever working well, he just lost focus and really wasn't interested, and through away a break in the second set. He was lucky Wawa wasn't able to take advantage in the third and he was able to get back in the groove.
Here, getting broken by Raonic(someone who breaks as rarely as anyone in the top 30) after being a break up in the third, 2 games away from the finish... that just doesn't scream focus and commitment to me.

There's no doubt that Raonic will win slams in the future. He will be BY FAR the best player of this younger generation that is to come.

Can we stop discrediting players of wins? Raonic was the better player today and he won. Andy wasn't at his best, yes, but this will still give Raonic a lot of confidence. I don't know if this means anything, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

He just played two bad points at *4-2 15-30 - but in the first set he had zero say in the matter, Milos was hitting the ball too good- showing what a fast court can do for an aggressive ballstriker like him.

Both players were excellent 2nd set though, the tie break was a clutch battle.

Milos winning the title would be great now but Kei doing it in his backyard would be a sweet moment too.

No chance, courts are too slow.

I'd like to hope so but the ATP/ITF don't like players of his ilk, that's why they've slowed the courts at all the slams and hardcourt Masters (except Cincinnati)
