I officially changed the rule for pigeon status from 4+ differential to 5+ differential recently here. Be sure to take note.
Thanks for the break mods.

Nishikori will win a slam
He's got the game, he's got the dominating returns and he's got the flair and finesse. He's the best 'young' gun out there, when Fedal+Nole say goodbye, he'll grab one sooner rather than later.
Tokyo today, US Open ...??

Re: Nishikori will win a slam
He needs to beef up that serve though - he can't get away with no free points off serve at all vs the top players. If he manages to improve his serve big time and stay away from injury, he will definitely be a contender.

Re: Nishikori will win a slam
It's premature to say he will win a major until he wins at least probably 3 masters, needs to improve the serve and get fitter too, as he's had too many injury/health issues.

Re: Nishikori will win a slam
The Samurai must improve the serve but yes, he is on the golden path.

Re: Nishikori will win a slam
Not tall enough and while he's certainly talented, he isn't, say, Rios (who didn't win a slam either). then again, this is a much weaker era so the comparison might be a bit void.
anyway, to answer the question with a concrete answer, i certainly see nishikori with 0 slams to his name but he might grab a MS if things click for him and the draw is favourable.
you're all free to launch nishikori for bandwagon player of the month, though.

Re: Nishikori will win a slam
That will never happen. His fitness and serve always will be an issue. Though I hope Kei will win at least 1-2 Masters.

Re: Nishikori will win a slam
like lenders said, he needs to improve that serve. he's had the game for a while now, but he's raised his level and gathered up some confidence recently.

Re: Nishikori will win a slam
Nadal has won 11 slams, and only with one of them he needed his serve. Just develop that ground game and those returns, and glory will come for King Kei

I just had to stop right there. There is a reason a player like Rios became No. in his prime and that WTA was dominating the tennis world at that exact period.
