I'm no Fakervic fan but he needs to save tennis, sadly tree trunk legs will be fresh. Interesting he's never questioned...

Re: WWW Shanghai Masters
Djokovic is my answer to everything, because he is the favorite for everything. Every result depends on how he performs.

Favourite for everything whose last big title against a good field was, wait for it, in Miami, goodness knows how many tournaments ago?!
He won the Rogers Cup but that was vs Gasquet in the final and look who he just lost to. Novak's not the favourite on clay, certainly not on grass, and when it's fast HCs Andy owns him. He's my favourite for the title after Murray but he's not unbeatable - certainly not by Fed and Murray.

My only point is that if Djokovic plays his best he will win. He obviously has not been playing his best this entire year.

And against "their best" Nadal on clay or Federer on grass/indoor hard, really?

In that case, I'll ask you who'll finish the year second in the rankings

Exactly. It's very rare for both players in a match to play their 'absolute best' at the same time - to say that as long as Novak plays his best no one can beat him is stupid. Nadal's clay level is clearly higher - Novak has beaten him twice and it was in the year when Nadal had his worst clay performances - even losing a set to Murray in Monte Carlo of all places. Same with Fed on fast HC and grass. Novak is only better than both arguably on slow HCs. 2011 Aus Open Novak would probably beat the best versions of Nadal and Federer at the Aus Open.

It's not rare, it never happens. Tennis being a matchup sport makes that downright impossible.
