Re: Keeping the streak going- Shanghai Masters
All finalists this week are in Nole's half with 3 of them in Tsonga's quarter
Although Murray is in Fed's half, but big hitters like Tsonga, Raonic and Berdych are in Nole's half. The good news is Raonic and Berdych are in Tsonga's quarter so Nole will only need to face one

Re: Keeping the streak going- Shanghai Masters
So it's Dimitrov. Definitely an intriguing match-up. Hopefully he's ready for the challenge from the youngster mentally and physically.
Idemo, Nole!

Re: Keeping the streak going- Shanghai Masters
I won't be able to watch the match (it's at about 3am for me).
I don't expect Novak to be troubled by Grigor's game...Grigor can play really well, but doesn't have the game to troubled Novak, in my opinion.
I hope Novak starts strongly and doesn't play more than he has to.
Go for the title, Novak.

Re: Keeping the streak going- Shanghai Masters
Again it took him less than an hour!
W/UE: Nole 18-18, Grigor 4(?)-23(?), only lost five points on serve!
Judging from the numbers, while he was very dominant on serve, it probably wasn't the cleanest match, which is somewhat expected from Nole anyway. Good job.

Re: Keeping the streak going- Shanghai Masters, R3: Lopez
So R3 against Feliciano Lopez H2H 4:0 for Nole
dropped just set against him
Lopez defeated P Kohlschreiber 63 64

18 UEs? he statistian is a bit stingy. Anyway, Nole broke early in each set and since he had no problem with his own serve, he's been pretty aggressive in his return games and had no patience in setting up points and tried to hit a winner in a not so perfect position. That's probably the reason for the UE counts.

Re: Keeping the streak going- Shanghai Masters, R3: Lopez
I looked at the scores and see that R.Federer is playing. I thought he was skipping this tournament.
Anyway, I'm glad he's playing. Hopefully, Nole will triumph and hold up the trophy.
I also hope that they won't force Nole to dance. I guess the organizers don't understand that it's kind of treating him like some sort of trained monkey.

Fed is desperately trying to hold onto the #1 ranking to have 6 years ending as #1 even not consecutively. This is the only tournament he can gain points in ranking.

Re: Keeping the streak going- Shanghai Masters, R3: Lopez
Race results are fairly telling at this stage of the season.
Quote:
1 Djokovic, Novak (SRB) 10,410 0 14
2 Federer, Roger --(SUI) -8,895 0 17

It's interesting to me that Nole has around 1500 more points while having played 3 fewer tournaments. Usually Federer gets kudos because of his scheduling, but he's evidently felt pressed this year to keep up with Nole. Or maybe he felt that since Nole had so many points to defend, he should play everything he could in order to claim the number one spot.

Nole has 560 points to defend for the rest of the season while Fed has 3000 points so getting some points and prevent Nole from gaining more in Shanghai definitely helps. Especially Nole does not sign up for Basel where he will lose 180 points. Nobody knows what will happen for the last few weeks and whether Nole will gain more points on Fed.
