I wouldn't like to see any WCs in TT, especially not for "home" players.

I was for the introduction of WCs to TT a few years ago, but having thought about it some more I came to conclusion it would be very complicated, most probably unfair and not at all necessary. I say we are good without it.

I'm against WCs: More work for managers, more controversy and really no added features.

I think it's time for a poll

And the thing with the playoff tournament in order to receive a WC was a nice idea...
Or the winner of a CH receives a Wildcard for the ATP in the following week but only on chosen occasions, not every week - for example the winner of Shanghai CH gets a WC for Shanghai Masters...

Or we play a Series consisting of Challengers the weeks before Slams - the 2 best players would receive a WC for the Slam then...

We would only need somebody who keeps track of the results and updates the "Race to Grand Slam WC"

I'm astonished that this one (relatively minor) topic has generated more than twice the number of replies as the suggestions thread covering everything else.

The thing about the WC is if it's done like the ATP is done, which means that any player can ask for one, then like pretty much everyone who can't get DE into the ATP events would ask for one, if it's for the ATP events only, and I'm sure everyone would agree that it would be too much for whomever is running the event to have their PM box filled up with WC requests.

I’m surprised that some of the people who told me they weren’t going to stand against me at the time of the last Board Vacancy are yet put their ideas forward.

It could be fun for a manager to read through all the begging letters

I am generally against the idea of Wildcards in TT because it would be very difficult to manage a fair system. However, I would be in favour of offering WC's to the people who dedicate their own free time to this game (i.e. the TT managers) - say one per year at a tournament of their own choice.

Yeah! It´s time for a poll!
And then discuss better the ideas and do a poll to choose (if the "Yes" wins in the first poll).

I think the better is have 2/3 per season.
Yeah I agree who wins the CH after a Masters (Shanghau CH) gets a WC for Shangai Masters.
But who wins a CH get a WC for any tournament ATP 250/500 (but if passed the 2/3 per season, of course they not receive.) Because I can won a CH in March, but want a WC for EO.

"Or we play a Series consisting of Challengers the weeks before Slams - the 2 best players would receive a WC for the Slam then..." I agree very much with is!!!! For GS this is the better!

"We would only need somebody who keeps track of the results and updates the "Race to Grand Slam WC"
I cam be this person if you want This doesn't take much time, I agree with WC and I want to help TT, so perfect

Yeah, maybe do a text is not the best for managers.

Sorry for my bad english :S

Managers have too much to do now obviously because I was just in a TT where a player had joined two TTs in the same week and it wasn't caught until after both TTs had already started! So I don't want anything in TT to become more complicated than it already is.There are two hugh threads about the rules of TT as it is. And I'm not in favorite of adding someone to keep track of WCs. I would rather have people added to manage the TTs. As far as I'm concerned a good TT manager is worth his or her weight in gold!

I completely disagree, managing is not that difficult or complicated - there is the guide for reference, also any of the Board Members or other managers are always around to assist if help is asked for.

After reading this and as a new player, I'd say it's really unfair to have WC for a tournament..
The only valid suggestion I found was to offer a few (That means not every week and for sure not in every tournament) WC through the year to the winners of a Ch event to make it into an ATP event (like the Shanghai example). Any other thing would be unfair and entirely subjective...in my opinion of course.

I am definitively in favor for a WC for people who win a Challenger and who wants to enter the MD of a 250/500 tournament.
I think the easiest to do is that the winner of each Challenger can ask for a WC in the tournament of 2 weeks later (with a limit of one WC per tournament). This is not difficult to manage and it rewards the performance of the players.
