What I suggest is that the "rules" of TT are not spread over two large threads that start years ago and come clear up to the present time.

It's not like a suggestion, but let's discuss Second week GS Challengers, I remember there was some questions during the season

Standard minimum TT matches per round.
For example, if an OOP has only 2 matches in it and the minimum TT matches per round is 4, then change the schedule to make it a 2 day round.

I suggest that First round should have at least 6 matches
Also what about calendar tournaments, how do you think is better to select tournament.
- money or location

I agree.
I just have another easy suggestion: pay more attention to the qualification and especially for the Q1 in some ATP250/500/Challenger event. If you win, I think you should have some points. It will encourage the beginners. Indeed, one can consider that if you win a match in Q1 and loose in Q2, you will be not rewarded, and you will not score.. That's my opinion!

Re: TT 2012 Suggestions Thread (READ FIRST BEFORE POSTING)
Only players committed to a tournament 48h before the final deadline (this is, usually Wednesday at 6PM) can ask for a SE. I don't like people getting into tournaments only when they know they will have a SE.

Great idea
Yeah I agree. Maybe not in CH, but in ATP 250/500, yeah I agree

This is easy for some ATP and all challenger tournaments but when there are only 12 matches in 1st round because of the byes it might get difficult and not every manager can provide differences for split OOPs

Re: TT 2012 Suggestions Thread (READ FIRST BEFORE POSTING)
Players who are LE (after first deadline) should not be given BYEs in Q draw because of their high seeding.
It seems illogical that you can get a bye to MD with a lower rank than an LE if there are less than 28 entries, but if there are more than 28 entries those with the lowest rank will likely have to play a match despite signing up on time.

Re: TT 2012 Suggestions Thread (READ FIRST BEFORE POSTING)
It's not a suggestion as such - but there have been occasions this year where commitments of players by their doubles partners have gone un-noticed by managers, people have also committed with other players unknown to that player.
It might be worth discussing this further as to whether both players in a doubles partnership have to commit/confirm before being accepted on an Entry List which might possibly help to solve this problem??

SR2 : Mayer vs Haas (Actual result Haas wins 2-0)
SR3 : Cilic vs Andujar (Actual result Andujar wins 2-0)
SR4 : Gasquet vs Fognini (Actual result Fognini wins 2-0)
Player A

Gasquet 2-0
Player B
Berrer 2-0
Mayer 2-0
Cilic 2-1
Gasquet 2-1
In the above example, Player A wins on Shootout SR2 by giving a set to the winner, but player B gave a set to the winner in SR3 & SR4, so therefore has made better picks overall and deserves to be the winner.

Considering what sdtoot suggested, what could be done is to count the number of sets given to the winner when both players pick the loser, as it's already used as a tie-breaker when the matches go to the SR shootout.

Doubles teams are already formed by players from the same nation in Olympics

Transforming Martin's post into suggestions, these are two of the solutions I can remember that have been proposed in the past:
1. Players who're still alive in the GS (or IW/Miami) by Saturday (GS R16) should be out of the 2nd week challengers, MD or qualifying.
2. Players should be able to commit to the 2nd week challengers only after they're out of the GSs/IW/Miami.

Re: TT 2012 Suggestions Thread (READ FIRST BEFORE POSTING)
It's not really a suggestion, but there have been some problems because of picks being sent to the person who posted the OOP (when the manager wasn't able to post it), so I think this topic should be discussed as well.

Yeah, I think if they're sent to the wrong person then they should still be counted.

Re: TT 2012 Suggestions Thread (READ FIRST BEFORE POSTING)
There was a problem once when some people had sent picks via email (I think orangehat was a manager then). There was a huge discussion there and we should make straight rules here.
