Very pleasing result for Gasquet - despite the difference in ranking, before the match I thought that Tomic could be in with a good shot of winning the match. Richard's nice little run of form recently continues with a solid performance.
Tomic put Gasquet under a bit of pressure early on in the match but after saving those 3 early break points, it seemed like Gasquet had the upper hand although it was close throughout.
Also I don't recall a double fault being made by either player, so that is quite neat.
On a side note after seeing Dimitrov yesterday and Tomic today, I look forward to their rivalry when they meet on the ATP tour. I prefer Dimitrov's game but I think Tomic will achieve more (bearing in mind that Tomic is about 18 months younger).
I've always liked Gasquet and Tomic has grown on me a lot recently so I would have been happy with either winning. I'm pleased though that Gasquet is finally finding some consistency again and hopefully he will be back in the top 10 soon where he really belongs. He's way too talented and fun to watch to be hovering around the 20 mark.
Great day for Gasquet after being down 5-7 3-5* against Dimitrov
FATE ENDS DELUSIONS
It all ends in the quarters. Nadull will be slamless, and will be almost 30 by the time his next possible slam comes, RG'16. June 3, 2015 is the day when Roger Federer secured his place in history as the Greatest tennis player of all time. IT ALL ENDS HERE. FATE ENDS DELUSIONS. Bitch.
