Re: Is It true that the Japanese Federation gives 2000$ per ranking point?
I think Japan is in economic decline right now.

That's sort of correct. But nowhere near on the same scale as Europe.

Re: Is It true that the Japanese Federation gives 2000$ per ranking point?
is there any actual confirmation of this?
i know its got nothing to do with it but i do know that the chinese do pay their curlers a bonus depending on how well they do at major international competitions
so i guess its not unheard of for a country to reward a strong performance or ranking in a sport

Re: Is It true that the Japanese Federation gives 2000$ per ranking point?
If this is 2000 yen, then that would make sense. That's around £16/$25 apparently.
A little incentive to get points and rise in the rankings for the country is nice to see, but spoiling their players using money they could be spending on youth projects and increasing public access to Tennis, isn't a great idea.

This can´t be true, if so than Nishikori already in 2012 would have almost 8 million USD just from ,this bonus,, from JAP tennis federation. If it is YEN than really not much, but still better than nothing

Re: Is It true that the Japanese Federation gives 2000$ per ranking point?
can't be true. That would be retarded. And why would they pay say Nishikori 250x2k = 500k just for winning a ATP 250?
Winning for example Thailand Open 2012, an ATP250 gives 100k dollars.
They'd pay their player 5 times the prize money for winning the entire tournament. Think about that for a moment
so ofc it's yen or just bs

He was complaining about the lack of financial support for him, and said that for example the Japanese players get 2000$ per point, and with that he could afford a full-time coach and be ranked a lot higher.

Re: Is It true that the Japanese Federation gives 2000$ per ranking point?
Actually i am now thinking it could be 2000 USD - if they pay it for Davis cup points? Does this make sense no? if you play for Japan in DC and get ATP points than it could maek sense, - are here any Japanese people who can clear this out for all of us?
