Is not very easy to recover mentally before today's match. Good luck Nick!

Shame he was so tired, but he fought well anyway and had a ripper of a tournament. Rest up, and get ready to tear it up at the USO Series.

(I'll be surprised to see him still play Newport).

Why? His last match was on Wednesday so he has around a week to prepare.

Congarts to Nick for his incredible effort here in Wimbledon! I think he has a good future ahead of him, and Tennis has hope after all for the new generation. I actually think losing here might help him more than reaching the Semis because if he wins the QF he reaches the Top 30 which might be too much of a transition from him (as Top 30 are commitment players, correct me if I'm wrong). At least here he could build step by step and rise with his fellow youngsters, like Vesely and Thiem on their way to the top. Let us see how the HC season brings which I hope would be awesome. He seems to have the confidence to play against top guys, so we might see tough matches from him. I think his fitness is just letting him down for now (see against Paire on AO and Raonic on Wimbledon) but I think it would just improve in time.

He wouldn't quite have reached top-30 with a win, as mentioned earlier it would be enough for 35th.

The real test will be what happens now he has tasted some success. Hopefully he will not become distracted. Didn't Tomic have the same result or similar at the same age? There is a lesson there.

It's a good basis for further work. But it will take another 2-3 years, which would playing at the top level.

Great effort. Australia has a history of dumping #1's out of slams. Philippoussis, Dokic, and now Kyrgios I'm sure the team around him will keep him grounded and he'll keep improving. It's all very exciting!

No Newport for Nick, he is coming home to relax for a few days before the hardcourt season prep begins.
