Where the hell did I get 16-17 from? Looking forward to seeing - what seems to be - a determined and motivated tennis player representing Australia in a few years. Unlike like the Nard.
Tomic [tom-ic] [tom-ic-ing] verb
1. apply yourself for a small period of time before giving up. (I am tomicing this match). noun
2. play exceedingly well for a month and then give fallacious promises to the world. (He performed a Tomic)
Do we know if he's going to play the other Junior Grand Slams. I assumed he would play and win junior Wimbledon, but it looks like right now he should keep going with pro matches
Well, not long after he won Australian Open juniors he said that he would try to win the Junior Grand Slam. But he also said he wanted to reach the top 300 by the end of the year and as his brother points out, he's obviously had to adjust this goal and has set his sights on bigger things.
I wish I could achieve a year goal before May (it usually takes me two years ), but Kyrgios isn't your average teenager.
I still think it's likely he'll play junior Roland Garros (and Wimbledon) as more experience of the Slam arenas is beneficial.
The first time (out of two total) I bet on a sports result was Nadal versus Soderling French Open 2009 (Nadal -x.5 games).
With the victory, Kyrgios will move to around 268 in the rankings next week. Should be high enough to get entry into GS qualies. Anyone know what Nick will do after this? Going back to juniors may be a bad move...
Excellent result. Well done Nick.
Hopefully that is the last Futures tournament he ever plays.
With a Challenger title under his belt already, Nick should have been playing An-nin this week, where he would have been main draw and could easily have done some major damage there. Now to tackle the bigger tournaments, leave Futures and step up to Challenger level where he deserves to be.
