If I believed in destiny, fate or any of that bullshit, I'd say this is looking like the one for Andy. But I don't.
The royal connection does it, Pippa arrived and Land Of Hope And Glory immediately sounded in Murray's head, followed by God Save The Queen. There was no way he was letting his nation down. Union Jacks out everyone!

Being one of Andy Murrays biggest fans - i have to say was not AT all happy with his attitude in first set and a half...was just terrible, very Diva'ish like he didnt want to play on Armstrong, and he wasnt happy with lack of atmosphere.
Marin helped Murray get back in it, Marin did choke, but Murray did up his game at the right moments. Very impressed with sets 3 and 4 but i still hope Lendl gives him a rollocking for his attitude and play in first set and a half.
Congrats Andy...maybe it is destiny

Murray was beyond useless until facing setpoint at 3-6 1-5, then he loosens up, and far better player from then onwards. Of course Cilic choked the 2nd attempt at serving it out - not so much the first, Murray was excellent there.
Total complacency, he must have assumed he would routine Cilic again, and couldn't get going at all. Very like when he lost to Wawrinka here two years back.
Where does this leave him? If it is entirely complacency, then obviously that's not an issue in the sf or final. If it was the conditions though? He's had three day matches in heavy humidity, and kinda struggled in them all. Two night matches: deadly sharp.
On the other hand, when he did get going, that was just superb in the latter two sets.

The good thing is, once Marin takes care of his mental lapses, he'll be eating players like Murray for breakfast. Just imagine the scoreline today had Marin not choked. Would be something like 6-3 6-1 6-3.

Murray really does not like this court at all. Lucky to get out of this one but still good mental strength to take advantage of Cilic's choke.

Cilic should not have gotten tips prior to the match from Gasquet on how to play Murray.

The choke certainly helped but once Andy adjusted to Cilic's style of play the tennis was very different.
Chokes are always more likely when a player is just hitting everything as hard as possible with no thought behind it. Cilic was playing with hardly any margin for much of the match
