I think that Almagro and Berdych don`t like each other much. Have it something with episode at AO-11 or not, but you can notice how spaniard watches at him and raise his level always against him. Today he gave his best in two sets too, just wasn`t enough, but he tried.
But I can`t say that they hate one another, maybe it`s only lack of sympathy - happens. But even this gives us very quality matches between two. I always look forward to see them close in the draw.
Remember 80th and 90th - Mcenroe and Connors, Becker and Lendl. They can`t stand their main competitor and owing to this always fought, raised their game. It wasn`t all about money, points or even records, but personal issues. Now Tour is as sweet as never and I`m not sure that this works well speaking about battles on court.
Sure, in views players speak one thing and can have opposite in thoughts. But I feel like even because of humble interviews everywhere and everytime with added so-called image of "good" guys players haven`t the same hunger anymore. Of course, money and else remain, but motivation never can be as high as it is with personal conflicts.
