100% Nadal = 100% Roddick

Tough to make a call

Early 2009 Nadal Vs late 2003 Roddick

Would be very exciting match up. but very tough to call the winner

LOL. your creating a joke right? I wouldn't even be close. Rod just never had the complete game to really worry Nadal at his best.

Do people really think Nadal is that incredible in the hard courts of 2003? Hard courts in general? Really? I'm a huge fan of Nadal, but I'll still continue to believe that Nadal's weakest court is hard court. Roddick of old would surely get him.

Roddick is 1-3 against Del Potro and 5-4 against Djokovic, so if he beats the first I don't see why he shouldn't beat the other as well.

Because you'd need to look at recent records. The wins against Nole were slanted earlier in the rivalry, not recently. Del will probably beat Andy, if he doesn't Nole is likely to blow him off the court again as he did at the Olympics. One has to give things more thought then just looking at pure numbers without the history behind them.

A Roddick win against Del Potro would surely mean he's playing as well as a few years ago. And Djokovic is not his 2011-self. So you can rest assured one did give things more thought.

Not really. Del po is looking pretty ragged right now. It in no way correlates to taking on Nole later if Andy were to win.

You are of course welcome to your own opinion. I would advise you to refrain from comments like "One has to give things more thought", though, as they mainly reflect on the speaker, not the person spoken to.

Maybe you should have looked at the head to head in more depth before lecturing others on it?

Peak Roddick was 03-06, Djokovic won a slam in 2008 and "arrived", he didn't get any better until 2011 but he appears to have fallen to his previous (2008-2010) level.

At the end of 2008 the head to head read "Roddick 1-2 Djokovic"

In 2009 and 2010 the head to head was "Roddick 4-1 Djokovic".

In 2012 when Roddick is in terminal decline and apparently injured it is "Roddick 0-1 Djokovic".

So actually Roddick has beat current level Novak plenty times, thrice in a masters series and once in a grand slam.

Clearly the Roddick from Wimbledon/Olympics will not have a chance v Djokovic, but if he ups his game to its pre 2011 level seeing as it's his last tournament, home crowd, whatever, there's nothing to stop him winning.

Personally I think he'll lose to Del Potro in 3, but it is entirely true if he beats DP he can beat Djokovic.

Sometimes you just need to give these things more thought thAn just looking at pure numbers without the history behind them.

Roddick was in his prime in 2006? This is news to me.

Its was part of his greater years, he did not play in 3 masters event but yet he was still number 6 in the world, considering he sucks on French that's impressive.

Thank you.

03-05, Whatever. The point is he peaked before Djokovic was a contender.

It doesn't matter if it was part of his better years. When someone peaks, you analyse where they have maintained their highest performance levels and he certainly wasn't at his best during 2006 and neither 2005. It's hard to consider any time after his spell with Dean Goldfine as his "prime".
