I'm no Fakervic fan but he needs to save tennis, sadly tree trunk legs will be fresh. Interesting he's never questioned...

Watched a lot of this match and Dolgo was just horrible.
Inconsistent as always, many UEs, looked kind of lost out there. 45% of first serves didn't help either.
I really don't see Dolgopolov as a top 10 player in a future. He will need to work his game and add something to his unusual flat shots.

Happy for Stan.

Surprised it was so routine - I half expected Dolgopolov to join the party with another comeback in five, but seems he wasn't up for it today.

Hopefully Wawrinka will give Djokovic some sort of test, as the latter's had it laughably easy so far.

On a separate note, do these guys really have to come on court wearing virtually the same exact outfit? Don't they have anything other than canary yellow t-shirts in their bags, or is it a sign of weakness to be the one to show a little consideration for the fans watching on lousy streams? At times one could scarcely distinguish between the two, were it not for Wawa looking a little corpulent in that t-shirt a size too small.

I don't know how many of you guys were watching this match, but I actually do not think it was entirely Dolgo's fault that he lost.
I was sitting on Armstrong today in the general admission session and a couple rows behind me was this idiot asshole that kept yelling out every point or two, basically heckling Dolgopolov. Saying shit like, "He's munching on your second serve Alex, do something", or "no whining alex, or "That drop shot isnt working. try something else".
By the middle of the first set, Dolgopolov was visibly ticked off. I'm surprised he didn't request that the man be ejected from the stadium. I almost considered saying something but he seemed really drunk and i didn't wanna start a conflict.

Did anybody else hear this guy on tv or in person?
cuz it was really sad watching Alexandr get torn to shreds by this moron in the stands. I personally think that made the difference in the first two sets.
Sad, I feel like the match was tainted.

Not to discredit Stan however. Some great stuff from him today. A well earned win.

Don't even try come in here with excuses kid. Dolgo was just unfortunate that he drew Stan. Who happens to be on a one way wrecking machine to final, dusting aside anyone who gets in his way.

He played like crap before the heckler even got a chance to start. First game was 0-40, fight to deuce, and throw 2 double faults in there. Heckler or not, you could tell from the first few games that he was going to be poor today.

yes, but he also had chances to get back into it, namely when stan was serving for the set, he had his chances
im not making excuses. of course, as a pro he should be able to lock out the crowd if they are heckling him, and he let that guy get to him.
but in his defense, i think it was close enough that that man was the difference between him putting up a fight and him fading away like he did

Idk, he really didn't have a good read on stan's serve today and there was little threat to break from beginning to end. There were so many times where he hit the bottom of the net on a second serve return.

Stan has been really consistent in this USO series and for someone like Dolgo who's so up and down it was a big change of saying goodbye to the tournament.

I don't think he can trouble Nole but will give a good effort unlike many other players.
