US Open R3 : Almagro def. Sock 7-6 (3) 6-7 (4) 7-6 (2) 6-1
Better player lost.
I hope Sock can sustain this level of performance outside America. By the way, what about those missed break points ?
Plus, Sock needs to develop his tactics throught the matches. I love watching ballbashing but in order to achieve bigger goals,24/7 ballbashing will not help. Needs more variety.

As good as Sock played he's no different to a lot of other dumb ball bashers. Look of work needs to be done on him.

Sock played well for 3 sets. With better clutch play and a more consistent serve he could be a top player pretty soon

Better player definitely won Ridiculous claim, he breadsticked Sock, who made too many bad errors
Almagro went completely crazy at 4-4 in 3rd, but it somehow helped him, he saved 0-40

...now glance at the winners-ue ratio. if golubev and djokovic play, golubev will hit more winners and lose 2 and 2

52 winners and only 24 faults.from ALMAGRO.
He was not that good, but it was enough.
Sock has a lot of issues to work on.
His movement is not Top 100 worthy.
His variety is not Top 50 worthy.
Some good serves and shots though from the young american.
