Theoretically, if Tsonga does consistently well in the big tournaments - basically including the 500s and the Masters - then he wouldn't have to worry too much about the guys racking up points in the 250s. Especially if they aren't as consistent in the big tournaments either - see: Almagro.

Good for the game when top players play more. Not grounds for complaint. And Ferrer has done better at slams this year than Tsonga.

Such a sad loss for tennis that someone who has so much talent as Jo, also has such a small brain.

I'm no Fakervic fan but he needs to save tennis, sadly tree trunk legs will be fresh. Interesting he's never questioned...

Well, when Federer, Djokovic, Nadal and Murray are all healthy, they are going to hold the top 4 spots. Ferrer could have won every 250 he entered and he still would have trouble grabbing that 4th spot. He has the 4th seed here because of Nadal's injury. As far as being ranked 5-8, it really does not make a difference in your slam draws. The small tournaments can make a difference between 5-8 ranks but that shouldn't really matter if his aim is to win a slam. If he wants to dethrone the top4, he simply has to start beating them.

His and Berdych's comments display a mental defeat. They work really hard, are amazing players, but struggle to even make Masters SFs and Fs, let alone win them. A QF ceiling has been placed on them by the top 4 - so they work hard, but don't get the big titles. I don't get it though - he's good enough to beat the top 4 - certainly in best of 3. Needs to have more belief in his talent rather than feeling sorry for himself that the top 4 do so well.
i actually expect the issue may well be they are NOT working as hard in their preparation etc. Tsonga is a great athlete obviously, but it's also fairly clear he's far from his top shape he could achieve. It's pretty clear to me as much as they may complain, Tsonga and Berdych ( and many others) have just not given it the total focus it requires to be at the very top of the game.

since this season for top guys - i think top 30 not sure they can count besides slams, Masters and WTF 6 best other tournaments - that means even 6x250 if you don´t do much at 500s

2013: ATP World Tour - The Vulture Wars.

Tsonga will play some tournaments in China nobody will even know about.
