He cramped late in the match, it was really humid after the rain. Still won the last set 6-1, just had to shake out his leg a bit.

He was 4-1 up in the 3rd when that happened. People are being ridiculous.

He had to throw Bogo off before his assured comeback.

Definitely. Bogomolov is the far superior player after all.

If Murray played this bad yet still only lost 7 games....

Encouraging that Murray can have a bad day and still win so easily

Re: US Open R1: Murray def. Bogomolov Jr 62, 64, 61
A R1 match is a sure guide to his title prospects.
Except not
The aim is to survive week 1 at this point, for all the top players. No banana skins. Even with Murray not playing great, he was done in just over 2 hours, with the loss of just 7 games.
If he's still playing like this after 2 more rounds, then I'll start to worry. This is about as meaningful to title prospects as Roger's hugely memorable R1 performance at Wimbledon - which I bet most of you would need to look up to see who he beat and how.

Re: US Open R1: Murray def. Bogomolov Jr 62, 64, 61
In a strange way this is good for Murray. It can't really get worse than that performance and he still managed to lose less games than most other players playing in the 1st round. Signs of aggression and I'm sure he'll find his form soon. Better than peaking too early.

Murray is really a horrible player to watch. If Fed can't take the trophy, then I surely hope Djoker will trash that pusher in the final.

Re: US Open R1: Murray def. Bogomolov Jr 62, 64, 61
It was a poor match. Murray didn't play very well at all but still managed to win in straight sets so that doesn't really reflect well on Bogomolov.
Still though, at the end of the day, you don't win any prizes for playing really well in the first round. He got the win and that's all that matters.

He got a touch of cramp in the hamstring, probably because it was so humid. He grabbed at it (wouldn't you?), did a bit of stretching and carried on. Didn't call a trainer. Didn't hold up the game in any way.
All the players would do it, but only Murray gets scorn because of it.
