Yup, for your wife to love you and want to be with you as often as possible cannot be healthy. Nope, not at all. Brilliant thinking from a real genius.

The fact is, success in DC is largely determined by what country you come from or play for in the first place, which most players haven't had any control over.

Stop putting words in my mouth. I'm only saying it's not healthy to have your happiness revolve around one person.

She's saying she can't be happy when she's not around Roger. A person should be able to find happiness in multiple places.

What? How is it unhealthy to love your spouse so much and be unhappy when they're not around? More marriages should be like this.

But you should never be completely happy when your spouse is not around. If you're enjoying a good vacation and enjoying good food in other places, you are happy in that moment but deep inside you're thinking "I wish my wife/husband was here to enjoy this with me."

I don't think Mirka means that she's totally unhappy and wallowing in depression whenever Roger is not around, she's just saying her happiness is not complete. Nor should it be. A husband/wife is called your "better half" for a reason.

Very good interview. I'd buy a book from Roger. Heck, he could probably write it himself without much help.

Not complete is a better way to put it, but that's not what the quote says. Although I agree it's probably out of context.

I know how she feels. I don't feel "right" until my husband and kids are at home. Besides, the woman is smart. Don't think she should let a catch like that be by himself with all those women out there. Can you imagine how many of them throw themselves at him? Fed's got a great support system. Wife, kids AND parents to watch out/over him.

Good, balanced article with decent questions not centered just on tennis.

A big ego goes with the job requirements of being at the top of any sport or profession. You really have to believe your are better then the rest ( or at least as good) to win on a regular basis. Self doubt is often what separates those from who win and those who don't. It's been for example Murry's problem.

Wasn't so much a jab, as his belief he can still beat them.
