Congrats Roger!

From his presser :
Quote:
Q. Can you give us a little sense, if anything, of what came from the meeting yesterday, the ATP meeting? There has been some mixed messages, rumors flying around. Can you give us a sense of what you thought emerged from the meeting yesterday?

ROGER FEDERER: Well, it was in four meetings, so I don't know which one are you talking about?

Q. Players had theirs first.

ROGER FEDERER: Exactly. I was there too. Look, it's about just getting back to the players, making sure everybody is on the same page and understanding what the situation is. There are obviously different processes in place right now, different things we're working on. It's not only the Grand Slam issue, but many other issues always pending. We're working on these and trying to inform the players. One thing I think has been the case is we have always wanted the players involved. Finally we really have engaged players, and I think that's a very good thing. Other part is managing that. It's not always the easiest thing, but you really do see that players don't feel like, Oh, no, another player meeting. I don't want to go to it. We weren't going to do a mandatory player meeting, but it was requested. That's what the ATP set up. I thought it was a good meeting. Obviously always going to be rumors flying, but as long as I'm president of the player council it's always going to stay behind closed doors what exactly has been talked about. I think we're on the right track for many things. Obviously we try to solve it the best way we can for all parties involved on all issues really.

Stakhovsky is playing us for fools yet again. No one suspects that HE is the real president and Roger is just a pawn in his grand scheme. He aims to make tennis his personal playground.

You will see... you will all see...

Sergiy been dropping AO strike hints all over the place. When Brad Gilbert (answering to my question on twitter today) said he didn't know anything about a player strike, Sergiy replied 'Maybe you're not close enough to hear". He wouldn't tell anything about the meeting, other than to say it was very long and interesting.

Read this thread. Can't find the actual article. Federer, as well as Nadal asked for carpet to be changed to hardcourt.

This post is also good. I never knew wcr (a very famous and very good poster on RF.com) used to post here .

This one is the best though. I wonder what scoobs thinks of Nadulle asking for Madrid's clay to be scrapped. Didn't see a lot of winning from Nadulle fans when that happened.

I have to say though - some of the posts in that thread are Nastradamus-like
http://www.menstennisforums.com/show...84&postcount=3

A BBC article that also explains the change in surface - basically to help Paris see more of the top players (something Nadulle have stopped with Paris-WTF b2b.

The start of wcr's post is nonsense. Bercy was far from target practise. Yes, Ivanisevic and Sampras both banged aces and had very short points, but that's more to do with their game style than anything else. For instance, Federer played one his most memorable earlier matches against Henman there in 2003, which was a wonderful match full of everything. There was nothing wrong with the surface. Just a biased fan.

Scoobs is right in the second post, however. Sickening.

Yeah I've seen/read that a million times. Sorry that doesn't equate to killing carpet from the tour. And honestly why in the world would Fed want to kill a the surface that benefits him?
