Are you talking about the Australian Open? He had a full day to recover, as is customary in all grand slams, except the US Open. So he had almost 48 hours between those 2 mathes, not less than 24 hours as you claim.

It makes a lot of difference: he didn't get the free day before the USA final and his legs gave up in the last set.
