Re: Federer 2012 > Djokovic 2012?
At least wait until the US Open is over.. The indoor season of course matters, but the US Open swing matters much more when comparing these things.

What would make you happy? Face Djokovic and Nadal only every round? I mean seriously, aside from Djokovic and Nadal, everyone is technically his "slave" and even then, he had to beat Novak at Wimbledon and Rafa at Indian Wells..

That's because everyone but the top 4 is Federer's slave

Olympics, USO and WTF will determine it.

Nothing will eclipse Federer becoming number 1 and winning his 17th GS title!

Re: Federer 2012 > Djokovic 2012?
i think the longevity is the last box that fed needed to tick to be goat
nole's 2012 hasn't been that bad actually
for a well past his prime fed to dominate in this era shows how weak nadal and noles eras were
and maybe how strong federer's 2003-2006 was

31 years old Roger Federer > 25 years old Djokovic
I fully agree with it

But it's not just about this year is it? If we go back until after the USO last year, Roger has won 8/15 events played. Djokovic has won 2/12. Their slam results has been pretty much the same since then. And as a previous poster showed the stats favor Roger as well. I think we can already conclude that Fed is the better player, even though the thread title is about 2012. Now of course if Djoke wins the USO that can change things. Djokovic clearly needs that title badly if he has any chance of having a better 2012 than Roger. If we look at just 2012 Djoke has won 2/9 and Roger 5/12. Remember it's not JUST about the slams. Other events come into play as well if the slam results are very close.

Re: Federer 2012 > Djokovic 2012?
Yes in rankings. They are equal in achievements this year, both won one important match ag. each other at slams, Novak crushed Fed at RG although not in convincing form and vice versa at Wimbly with the difference of Federer not having real opposition in final. Had Novak played same number of tournaments as Fed did, he'd be still No.1 by this time. However USO will decide who is better this year in their second final I hope.

hm, not sure I understand this ...
2007 Novak won in Montreal, lost in R2 at Cincy, runner up at the USO
2011 Novak won in Canada, runner up at Cincy, won the USO.

Fed was never into the FO. He didn't wana lose to Nadull in another FO final, so he let Djoke do the honors. At Wimby he brough his A game and so did Djoke, and the result followed.

Honestly, with all respect to you, you really strike me as one of the biggest glory hunters on this board. I have seen hundreds of Fed's matches, he always fights. Fed is a born fighter (same with Nole and Nadal). There is a good reason he won 17 slams. Fed played his heart out back in 2011 at RG and managed to def. Djokovic. Yet, a year later at RG, he didn't want to lose to Nadal again so he lost to Nole??? Are you freaking kidding me? Are you out of your mind? completely illogical.
I'm really sorry to tell you this, but please try to be more objective and less blind. There are many good/objective Fed fans on this board who I really respect. I'm afraid you are not one of them. All you post is Fed, Fed and Fed ... you will also twist facts just to feed your Fed obsession. You are pretty harmless, but so annoying at the same time (I don't really take you seriously), sorry ...
