Re: Olympic basketball: Spain loses on purpose to Brazil to avoid the USA
It ended as a good move from Spain I enjoyed the game.
In the sports that matter Spain beats France as usual. France can get all the medal they want in popular sports like Fencing , nobody cares

Re: Olympic basketball: Spain loses on purpose to Brazil to avoid the USA
People who are saying there was no fixing actually watched the match? Spain was leading consistently and in the last quarter they started making some strange attack fouls and shooting from wherever. They were clearly trying not to win.

The French showing today why they are the worst losers ever. Disgusting display of gratuitous violence on their part.

They are indeed.
Today Spain lost to France in handball 23-22 = No incidents after the match.
France lost to Spain in basketball = French players start acting like a street gang of criminal teenagers.

Batum's behaviour was innapropriate. Don't generalize to the whole team.
Rudy Fernandez cheating was dirty too.

yep, they should have been expelled from the games like those badminton players. But organizers were obviously saving local McDonalds's from younger Gasol's fury

Batum wasn't the only one. Rudy was punched in the stomach by Turaf. I don't know what cheating are you talking about.

I asked Nicolas Batum why he hit Juan-Carlos Navarro in the groin. "I wanted to give him a good reason to flop," Batum said.

Told Batum some won't think groin shot is in Olympic spirit. Batum: "Do you think if you lost a game on purpose, that's the Olympic spirit?"

I see they were up 66 - 57 after 3 periods and lost 31 - 16 in the fourth...
Very obviously deliberate!
