You forgot to mention it was the longest three-setter by game time any tournament. Not too surprising the Olympics take this record, as the only tournament with a long third set.

EDIT - I see you mentioned it later.

Well, they never cared for the Olympics, did they? Sampras didn't enter in 1996 either.

So while this does not detract from what Feds has done, which is incredible, but to hail him as the *ONLY* man to do it is facetious since the greats of the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s *couldn't* have done it even if they had the ability.
I agree, but comparisons could still be made. Did these greats in decades past reach the final of every tournament which was important in their own time? If so, that is equally good.

Went to the Tennis yesterday.

Fantastic to see it live, and the crowd was very partisan and pro Federer. Federer was superior, the problem was he was so poor at converting and leaking errors on those points. His serving was immense though.

Attached is a photo I took....

don't worry , at least Fed is good enough to beat ballbashers at their best , just like Rafa did against Rosol !

Topspindoctor banned again. That's not good! He can still be very funny without crossing lines and getting banned. At least this is a short one. I hope he is more careful upon return.
