Re: Rogers Cup
Peter gets Matthew Ebden, which is I guess the best option in that he's a LL. Ebden has played 3 sets both days so with a bit of luck he'll be tired out when he plays Peter tomorrow afternoon

Re: Rogers Cup
So that means I gotta watch Ebden and his annoying puffing sound when he serves tomorrow

Re: Rogers Cup
Oh yeah, I remember that noise from seeing him in Montreal last year.
I really enjoy the qualifying and its great to see the Canadians play. A few years ago I saw Milos' huge breakthrough beating Gabashvili and this year I saw Abanda's first win.

Re: Rogers Cup
No TV to see the match, only able to know scores via ATPworldtour.com
Surprise, Peter leads 5-0, and has 3 set points
EDIT: He got it 6-0
Points won in 1st set: 25-6 PP. He went to deuce and A, explaining why he has 25 instead of 24. Ebden won 3 points in the game, half of this set's.

Re: Rogers Cup
Epic self-destruction by Peter.
I can't help wondering whether he really enjoys playing.

Re: Rogers Cup
is anyone here really surprised?
Even with the fast start i fully expected him to lose. He is not capable of beating guys ranked above him..thats the way it seems anyway

Also to Vasek for missing the volley on GP at *3-1. *sigh* It immediately reminded me of the mishit he made at 40-0 on serve in the 1st game of the 2nd set vs Federer last year where he got broken right after.
Hang in there!

At least he has the distinction of missing the easiest shot in the history of tennis (according to commies)!

I don't get why he felt it had to be so perfect. Seppi was nowhere near the net.
Phew, nice hold.

Re: Rogers Cup
Yes!!! At least he won't have to think that miss cost him the set.

Re: Rogers Cup
Yeah, somehow he overcame the mess-up. Impressive.
Vasek's brother is there, next to Fred.

Re: Rogers Cup
Hope he stays calm, not thinking too much about the score or keeping the lead.
5-2* Thanks for the three errors, Andy. Seems like 40-0 on serve is a quite tricky score for Vashy.

Re: Rogers Cup
Hang on tight - one more game. Poor Fred looks like the nerves are too much for him.

Re: Rogers Cup
Where were those first serves when you were serving for the match?
