Re: Ireland F1 [July 23 | Dublin | Carpet]
FBD Irish Open
Day 3 Report:
James McGee def. Barry King 6-2 6-3
Good match over all with high quality tennis from James in particular who was just too consistent in the long rallies which is understandable considering Barry retired last year. McGee hit a few aces and when he got his first serves in, most of the time he won the point. King struggled to hold on to his serve comfortably as the match wore on even though he did manage to break James early in the 2nd set. Even though James didn’t play near his best he came through it comfortably but credit to Barry for putting up a good fight which contributed to a good contest between the two.
Michael Look def. Sam Barry 6-1 6-2
Sam showed glimpses of his much talked about talent but conjured up way too many unforced errors most of which he dumped into the net. Look played a good solid match with quick service games and heavy hitting which piled the pressure on Sam to hold his serve. Look dominated the match and deserved the win.
Daniel Cox def. Neil Pauffley 7-6(4) 3-6 6-3
Was quite impressed by Pauffley as I had never seen him play before. He went through phases where he was all over Cox hitting winners from everywhere but at the crucial times couldn’t keep up that level of play. Cox has a good compact game but doesn’t have a massive shot or strength. Was just too consistent for his opponent taking his break-points for the most part at the first time of asking.
Josh Goodall def. David Pel 7-6(2) 6-3
Goodall has quite the temper on him. Many times throughout the match he was moaning and complaining to the umpire and got a code violation warning early in the 2nd set which didn’t improve his mood at all. Pel was pretty much all serve with a decent forehand but not much else. Goodall's game overall just too good for the Dutchman

Thanks, saw a few games but from what I saw Olivetti was just too powerful with his giant serve. Morrissey played decent at times but was overwhelmed by his opponents heavy hitting
Final will also be streamed live on Tennis Ireland website according to the tournament programme
