Re: USA F21 [July 23 | Godfrey | Hard]
Kozlov's first-ever Futures win? At least it's the first this year.

Do you mean to get his degree or what? Because I'm sure he has no eligibility left.

Re: USA F21 [July 23 | Godfrey | Hard]
Which is weaker, F21 or F20? Hard to say, but really I could see Kozlov getting to the final. Any result other than Ramirez winning this will be laughable.

Does Jung's win over Kozlov make this more of a weak tournament or does it show that Jung may be a better player than you thought?

Re: USA F21 [July 23 | Godfrey | Hard]
Jung should beat Kozlov, but so should have Adams and probably his first round opponent. Kozlov was bagelled in the first set, not sure if you noticed that.
I think Thatcher is probably the second strongest player left. Does that mean he will make it to the semis and lose to Ramirez? Maybe, or maybe not since matchups play a role but I wouldn't be surprised to see that. The top part of the draw is really weak and anyone beating anyone is not surprising, since someone has to win.
I dunno about you, but I have been waiting for Nevelo to have some results for a couple of years now, I think he could be a top 500 player done the line, maybe even a bit more. And Podzus is interesting too, actually.

His first round opponent is also very young and with no pro matches, nothing between them in that match

Re: USA F21 [July 23 | Godfrey | Hard]
I wanted Thacher to win this tourny but he lost 6-4 6-7 6-7
Btw I am pleasantly surprised he is giving professional tennis a shot. It sounds surprising but I legitimately thought he would go right to grad school. Extremely studious guy that I never thought really focused on tennis or maximized his potential. I mean he twice turned down USO QWC, once because he didn't want to miss the start of his freshman year.
We'll see where he can go, hope he has a good coach. If nothing else he can be an ATP doubles player.
Here's an article on him:
