Umm, what's not clear about that? Dead flies are disgusting, I never touch them if I can help it.
I haven't watched any tennis since Ernests got his injury

It's a very weird expression but maybe it's a baltic thing.
I know the expression "dropping something/somebody like a hot potato" but I haven't heard of "dead fly dumping".
Very odd.

Since when is one "dead fly dumping" question "lots of questions"?

The Lance Armstrong saga. On Flemish tv, we have a commentator called Wuyts who approaches tv commenting from the fanboy viewpoint. Lance was one of his favorite cyclists to drool over. I can't stand him (esp. his Tommeke Boonen drooling is embarrassing for somebody who gets paid to comment on tv. When Tom Boonen approaches the finishing line with a good chance to win: Tom...TOM...GO ON, TOM.....TOMMEKE!!!!!!!...Oooooooooooh, Tommeke *breathing heavily*).
On Dutch tv, there is Mart Smeets. I can enjoy listening to Smeets. However, other cyclists suspected of doping would be dumped like dead flies in a heart-beat by Smeets but he kept drooling over Armstrong, defending him (he used to follow him around in the TdF and he wrote a book about him).
It's fun to see Wuyts and Smeets, two big "Lance is innocent" defenders, squirm today. Smeets will be on Dutch tv to talk about it this evening. I'll try to catch that.
I wouldn't even mind their defence if they hadn't been so quick and cruel in dumping other cyclists like dead flies.

Hahaaaa.... there was another question Hilde!
It was just my silly expression, maybe a Baltic thing indeed. And teehee... that dead fly thing is catchy, no?
About the Lance Armstrong thing - I am just sad about the harm to the sport of cycling this all has done. Such a horrible horrible mess. If Armstrong gets stripped of his t TdF titles then those behind him were also dopers etc etc... But ah well...

Heck, I'm going to incorporate that into my everyday conversations because I figure it works Dutch and in English.
I dumped him like a dead fly.
Ik heb hem gedumpt als een dode vlieg.
What would it be in French? (just in case I want to use the expression in Brussels. Heck, I'm visiting Wallonia for a seminar tomorrow, I may try it out then)
Se débarrasser de quelqu'un comme un moustique mort?
It'll work if only for the WTF reactions I'll be getting.

I think that the TdF officials said that they weren't going to give the titles to somebody else and those editions would go without an official winner.

Don't know about the Walloons, they often have strange expressions only used by them, but I don't think there is quite an expression that can be compared.

There's no expression like it in Dutch either.
We say: Iemand laten vallen als een baksteen.
(= to drop somebody like a brick...the English drop hot potatoes, right?...Estonians dump dead flies)
It gets the message across.
If you read about an incident between a Fleming and some Walloons in your newspaper on Saturday, that'll be me.

Re: Rafachat - vol. 79. Rafa to win the WSOP next year! Bamos! :rocker2:
Actually in English if people or animals are dying in big numbers or so they're dropping like (dead) flies, dumping someone like a dead fly was my 'creation'.
Dump or drop someone like a hot potato, that's it in English yes, maybe that would be nicer to say about poor lil' abandoned Rafa.
Edit: please don't get into any incident Hilde.
