Re: Summer Hardcourt & Olympics
I was away at a birthday party so I missed seeing Andy's match today. I'm glad he got through the first round.
If he beats Novak then I'll be excited.

Re: Summer Hardcourt & Olympics
Well i'll finally be able to tick something off my bucket list tomorrow.
I'M SEEING ANDY LIVE ON CENTRE COURT! I CAN'T EVEN... SO EXCITED...
Been waiting TEN YEARS for this opportunity, thankyou scheduling gods. Been to 8 tennis tournaments and missed him every time, even missed him on the practice courts. Waited two hours at WTF once because he was scheduled to practice but he never turned up . If you want me to upload pics just say the word and I shall

Re: Summer Hardcourt & Olympics
I wonder if that shoulder is an issue...he served awful and played worse.

Re: Summer Hardcourt & Olympics
I couldn't watch Roddick-Djokovic yesterday, but watched it today on a full tape. From what I saw, Andy was not THAT bad. He tried to hit the ball, to take it to the Djoker. Just everything Nole touched, it tourned into gold. The sad thing is, a lot of top players seem to have their best days against Andy lately. I just hope this match does not smack his confidence much.
What surprises me is that his serve seems to be the problem more and more often. I don't know why his best shot seem breaks down, maybe because overuse through the years...I don't know.
I wander if Andy can make a run in Canada (if he plays). A lot of the top guys will be tired from the Olympics.

Re: Summer Hardcourt & Olympics
Maybe he needs time to recover. The shoulder or something. I was just saying. Not that I have read or heard something.I just don't know if he can handle playing every week till the end of US Open. And I don't want to see him tired and drained for the Open.

Even though Andy lost I hope you enjoyed watching him play live. That's the best way to experience tennis, especially a player like Andy.

Re: Summer Hardcourt & Olympics
Though I expected it, I'm really dissappointed. A bunch of top guys withdrew, it was really a chance for Andy to make some noise at Masters event. Heck,he even could have won it. And his seeding for the Open would have been different...

Re: Summer Hardcourt & Olympics
Thanks guys, I had an amazing time despite the result.
Infact it was UNREAL. Because guess what, Wimbledon was so dead you could just wander round the practice courts (courts 5,6,7 etc.) and there was no crowd. So I literally arrive, and ten minutes later there's Andy with a couple of people around him trying to get pictures, he's on his own and keeps asking the staff how to get to court 7 he kept apologising to people wanting autographs saying he had to practice. So, I went to court 7 to watch him practice, his partner didn't turn up till 10 minutes later, then about 5 minutes later it starting raining!
Andy wasn't happy because his was the first court to be covered and was moaning to the groundstaff asking them if they wanted him to practice in the middle of the road blah blah. So I thought there goes my chance of getting an autograph, he was in a terrible mood. Anyway, some little kid came up and begged for him to sign his cap and he agreed and i shot in behind him and managed to get my program signed, he only signed for two people. Haha, I was so giddy, i've wanted to see Andy live for ten years, never thought it would happen before he retired. More than I could have ever asked for.
Anyway, I will post some pics tomorrow for you

WTF!? Is his reasoning? He's tired from losing early?

Re: Summer Hardcourt & Olympics
So disappointed to see that Andy's not in Toronto.
I know that there's been nothing written, but from following Hewitt over the years I always get the feeling that not playing a tournament, having not gone deep the previous week, means that the body isn't up to the challenge of playing a lot of tennis. Of course it's just speculation, but I do fear that Andy is struggling with his shoulder and/or other niggles.

I'm guessing this is probably true...without really knowing much else.
