When will Del Potro win a match against Federer this year?
Surely it's about time.
He lost 6 consecutive times, but he last two times were very close.
I hope it'll come at a Master Event rather than a Grand Slam, so both Del Potro and Federer can get it out of their system.
I have to praise Del Potro for his sportsmanship, he greeted Federer warmly at the net each single time he lost.
The same can't be said about Nadal.

I doubt he will tbh, Cincy would be his only good chance. They meet 1 time again at most this year.
Edit: forgot DP will make the WTF, so they'll meet twice at most.

Can't see it happening. Federer is such a horrible match-up for Delpo...Delpo tries, but mentally he would be suffering every time he sees Roger on the other side of the net.
The way this is going, the H2H will very likely become like Federer-Roddick H2H, the only difference being that Delpo actually has beaten Federer in a slam unlike Roddick.

Yeah, that's why he has 1 slam while federer has 9 HC slams (USO and AO).
As for the thread question, i don't think delpo will beat fed this year. The Olympic defeat was probably the last straw and it has to affect him quiet a bit.

Yeah and Federer had injuries problem and Delpo turned pro in 1998 too. Comparing apples and oranges. |

On hardcourts, Del Potro should do better against Federer than at the Olympics.
