Re: Second half of season 2012.
First of all, very humid night, which made slow conditions even slower. Second, he took a wrong approach with Matosevic, playing ball down the middle instead of moving him and attacking his backhand. All in all, great win but being on court 4 hours on a first match is never good. Luckily, next match is on Thursday which should give him enough time to rest and recharge, hopefully.

Re: Second half of season 2012.
well criticisms will be made on him..and they should be because he should not have had to go 5 with matosevic
however he managed to turn it around and win in 5 and for all the talk of him being a mental midget it takes alot of mental strength to be able to win a match after dropping the first 2 sets. even more so it takes alot of mental strength to turn a match in which you had been playing so horribly through the first 2 sets around
id be very disappointed in him if he lost but im proud that he turned it around
i dont know why he insists on getting into these matches though..maybe he likes showing off his new found fitness?

Re: Second half of season 2012.
It's a good thing that he's playing Brands next, and on Thursday. Matosevic can be tricky, Brands, on the other hand, not so much. I expect a straight sets win, just to get things going before the R3 match against Nishikori.

2nd on court 13!
Nice and dry today, not a single cloud in the sky. Marin should be at his best.

Re: Second half of season 2012.
Nishikori si in the 3rd round for less than 3 and half hour. I have a feeling he will beat Marin (if will Marin win today).

Re: Second half of season 2012.
They are 3:3, Marin won 12 points on return, Brands 4, 4:0 on BP. Brands made 4 great services on break points, Marin pass back 2, once Brand made winner, once Marin made UE.

Re: Second half of season 2012.
Marin is on a roll, 5 games in a row, from the end of the first until beggining in the second, his standard this summer. 6:3, 2:0 up. 11:5 W/UE.
Average service speed of German is 206, while Marin's in 184.
EDIT: Marin is up 6:3, 5:2 with a serve.

I hope not, with Tsonga out there's great chance to play Quarters.

Re: Second half of season 2012.
God, I can't believe he chocked the 3rd set. Now that's a problem.

Re: Second half of season 2012.
Marin should won in 3.
He had 19 BP, German 1 (Marin wasted 10 in 3rd before faced SP) and Marin now serving to avoid 5th set.
Nishikori's only strengh is to overrun opponent and he will do that easy win tired Cilic.
But Cilic is complete dumb-ass, he shouldn't lost a set vs this opponentd and he will probably loose 4

Re: Second half of season 2012.
This is just too good to be true. Marin have 1/1 ratio, German 1/2, 3/19, 2/2, won points on return 59, 28, aces/DF 10/6, 12/10, points on net 71%, 50%, first serve 87%, 73%, 2nd 60%, 45 and they are 2:2.

Re: Second half of season 2012.
He will spend 2 times more time on court than Nishikori.
Is fascinating how he choked both times he served to stay in a sets. First time he made 3 DF (of 4 Brands's points), 2nd time he made 2 DF at 15:30.
