Flo had some good patches in this one, but on the big moments Nole is just too steady and has too much power for Mayer to deal with. This is the type of opponent that Djokovic can struggle with on this surface, so a good opponent to have before facing Federer.

Flo is a much trickier player than Youchny, that's for sure.

Yes, Mayer is a very tricky opponent and certainly did a better job than Mikhail today but calling him a 'better player' is a bit of a stretch. I like Florian as a player, fun to watch and has his moments of brilliance but not even close to being better.

This was not as easy as the score indicates. Mayer played a very good match, Novak had to be his near best to win it. A very good match, indeed.

Entirely depends on the match-up - Flo doesn't give you much rhythm, but Youzhny has a lot of big match experience - he doesn't match-up well with Fed, but has beaten Nole several times (as well as Nadal, and at a slam). I love both, but this is perhaps only the second good tournament result Flo has had this entire year. Both are very good grass players - however, Misha is the better player. Plus, Youzhny's wife just gave birth last night, apparently?

Both are dangerous players and have weapons though, for sure.

Nice trolling Nole spam. You should have ACC in the bag this year no problem.

Ironically, you havent even been here for a month and you're a contender. Even more interesting is the fact that a poster with one month of activity knows What ACC is.

Honestly... Logical... hum.

But logical was a Rafa fan, wasn't he?

Flo did trouble Nole occasionally, problem is, Flo doesn't have a good enough forehand to finish points. Djokovic could get back in the rallies because Flo doesn't have the firepower, at least not constant, consistent power.
