I bet if he won Wimby and took #1 spot he would arrived at Bernabeu even in wheelchairs. Like this would be high intensity match so he has to take care of the knees. If he can train he can play this match. Anything else is bunch of shit

Dear Samanosuke... perhaps you misunderstood what I meant to say. My point was only that we don't really know what has caused the reported flare up of this obviously chronic condition. If you read about it, pain can even happen from periods of inactivity following heavier activity. Here is one informative article I found on general tendonitis. I'm sure there are many more.
As far as him saying it flared up again, I'm only going by what was reported. I'll take it at face value for now. Could he be using it as an excuse not to play the exho? Hard to prove or disprove. But they did put a lot of effort in to setting it up. I mean Federer (who was first choice) himself questioned the timing of it, and asked that it be delayed. Now it ironically turns out that it will be delayed.
Respectfully,
masterclass

If this is entirely true, then respect to him for not bringing it up in the post-match press conference.
Wasn't he photographed looking like he'd had injections in his knees anyway?

Nor I. I remember him playing two full matches on grass before W 2009 before deciding not to play. He lost to Hewitt and Wawrinka. Interesting if he feels his knees are worse now than they were then.

This. Imagine Djokovic announced there as number 1 and Wimbledon Champ. This would hurt his ego too much.
What a farce.

Re: Nadal/Djoko exo postponed due to RN injury-2 wks rest
I just don't get this. I mean it's an exho, nobody is expecting them to play competitive tennis. They could just go out there and give the fans a few laughs and run a bit around. He wouldnt have to work that hard. I don't mean to be unfair to Rafa, maybe the situation is worse than I imagine... But if it isn't, this really is toying with fans and very disrespectful. I would be really angry right now, had I booked those flights. it's just.not very nice, Rafa. Anyways, hopefully he Has a quick recovery.

Healthy Rafa is still undefeated.

Re: Nadal/Djoko exo postponed due to RN injury-2 wks rest
The knee tendinitis is an ongoing problem Rafa has for years now and it will remain a problem.
So, it's a matter of managing the problem.
He overplayed IMO. I understand how much his clay court season means to him but that clay court schedule is packed to the rafters. He should have dropped either Barcelona or Madrid or both.
In my opinion, he lost to Rosol fair and square. No excuse.
I do think that just cancelling the exo is not the best way to go about it. People have bought tickets, booked flights, hotels. They should have gotten a replacement (Ferrer, Verdasco,...) for the actual exo match with Nadal still showing up for an interview or whatever.
A bit of a moment from Rafa, I think.
And I'm saying that as a big fan of his.

1. He doesn't care about his fans
2. He doesn't want Federer laughing at him?

I feel sorry for his fans, who have to make up excuses for his classless behavior time after time.

It's an exho No one is expecting them to do an Australian Open final redux.

Re: Nadal/Djoko exo postponed due to RN injury-2 wks rest
It was a ridiculous idea right from the start considering the timing right between Wimbledon and the Olympics... but o_O, this is lame.
Can't help it. All he needed to do is just bloody *show up* there, perhaps even in a wheelchair if he considered that fitting.

Re: Nadal/Djoko exo postponed due to RN injury-2 wks rest
I guess he needs injections on his knees to play close to pain free, and his knees are asking for another injection but he can't overdue this injections and this exo messes up his injection scheme.
I just hope that the organisers of this match made a good contract with him. So that he can't just cancel such things without it costing him some money.
