Default Whats the worst time zone to be in for tennis watching?

It's seriously gotta be here in Australia I swear every single semi final onwards is always scheduled late afternoon/night overseas and it ends up being ether really late at night or really early in the morning.

Tonight for example I'll be watching Nadal vs Djokovic at 11:30PM and thats assuming i get lucky and all the scheduled matches before play out in time. If it goes to a 3 setter i'll be up to 2am minimum.

I know first world problems. But just curious to see if anyone in other country's get's crappy timezone differences?

Didn't add a poll cause to many country's.

As an Aussie, I get ya. But I see a lot of other people on MTF that complain about the time-zones when Australian Open happens so its kinda even.

They only suffer for 2 weeks. We have to suffer for the rest of season. Definitely not even.

Australia yes - we in Asia don't have it that much better but the extra 2 or so hours we are behind means we can get most of the European play in - of course north America is impossible for Oz and Asia.

Here in the Philippines usually the European events (big bulk) are usually between the -6 to -8 in terms of time zone so if matches start at 11:30 AM then they usually start here around night time.

Brazil is bad for AO, so-so for RG, Wimby and European tournaments, but great for USO and American tournaments.

American season is essentially unwatchable for us Aussies. The european season I can deal with.

From an Australian perceptive, the European, Middle East & Asian events are okay, a lot depends on who is covering the events, ESPN (which covers the ATP) tends to be pretty good at showing matches live, on the other hand the WTA has minimal coverage and their matches tend to be put back to really late or not bothered with.

WTA use to be well covered by Eurosport but discontinued that contract.

The only time I watch WTA is during slams. Poor coverage (only one channel), and the matches don't interest me because of the shrieking.

RG is dire here because the channel who has the rights has only one channel available and the coverage is far from the best. Last year they aired a match with a Brazilian in a cheap camera instead of Federer I think.

New Zealand. Aside from January, matches are always in work hours or after midnight.

Yes the shrieking but the way they treat their own sport's coverage is no ones fault but their own so it is a bit rich for anyone to complain if people prefer to watch the ATP.

Eastern time zone is not too bad, the only bad time is the early season in Australia where just about everything is overnight.

Otherwise it's mostly in the morning, so it's great for weekend matches when the kids get up and I can put tennis on without my wife complaining. Sometimes the matches start too early though. MC the matches were starting at 4:30 am.

The problem I have with most US tournaments though is that they like their night tennis, so in IW for example the night sessions start at 11:30 PM, even the US open runs into this issue, as Raonic/Nishikori ran until past 2 am.
