Just when I was going to suggest a Stones concert would have been 1,000,000 times better. Well, we got one minute.

The British posters in this thread have no shame. The ceremony blows, but at least the music is getting better.

I am enjoying making fun of it. I find it boring. Embarrassing almost. Nothing new, nothing breathtaking. Can't wait for the world reaction.
The Beijing opening set the standard. Boyle seems to have no clue of what the Olympics are.

ceremony is about boosting the atmosphere for the olympics, whats the point if only british people know whats going on,its something that everybody should be able to enjoy. Hosts need to be more understanding than this.

Beijing might've been more impressive, I don't remember laughing and enjoying some great music. This show rocks

We practically invented every decent sport. We are the home of music. We are THE historic nation.

I assume you're Chinese? If so, I didn't understand quite a bit of your ceremony but I loved it because you were demonstrating your way of life, history and culture to the world. Britain is doing the same.

I'm seriously underwhelmed as well - I missed the first half hour & I was worried that I'd missed some seriously epic stuff, but it looks like it wasn't worth rushing home for.
