Default Best chance for Del Potro to grab a masters

Which of the 9 masters will Del Potro have the best chance of winning?

On a side note i think his best chance so far was paris 2012. No Fed, no Nole, no Nadal and no Murray.

I think he would have lost to Ferrer. Anyway, he was very close to do it at Montréal 2009 and Shanghai 2013, even at Indian Wells this year he would have probably won if he hadn't two very tough battles (especially against Djokovic) before the final. That said, I think his best chance is Shanghai or Paris.

No chance at any of the Masters, he's just a glorified Slam specialist.

Well, we need one without ATP500s immediately in front Apart from that, could be anywhere imo. He only needs to catch fire himself and perhaps see a couple of others having an off day.

R3-DNP-SF-R2 at Slams this year
I can see where the specialty is for sure.

But yeah, the assumption that Paris is his best shot just because the top players tanked is pretty stupid. He has the mentality of a top player (or at least he did until various points this year), so really he tries to bring his best game for the key moments and the important events, even if the actual scheduling decisions he makes can be rather dubious.

He has good chances anywhere since there's no grass masters.

Simple, any masters that he can avoid the big 3, if it ever happens, he's a shoe in!

This.

Del Potro is one of those rare guys who perform better vs the best players, not worse.

I think Nadal and Djokovic have got too much of a lock on the claycourt events but he's got the potential to win any of the hardcourt Masters. I could see him winning Cincinatti or Shanghai/Paris.

Hope he can do it next season. It'd be a long-overdue title for him.
