Default Is it harder work/more stressfull to hate a top player than be a diehard fan of one?

What do you think?

It's basically the same thing I feel, just like supporting a fan but getting excited when theyre down rather than up.

But one makes you bitter and the other doesnt perhaps?

Not if you're a hater of Murray. He makes it easy on everyone to hate him.

I chose top player because they will be winning more than they wont, it wont be stressfull to hate a lower ranked player with a losing record obviously.

No, most fans of top players are gloryhunters, who don't give a shit about the sport aka Topspindoctor. These obnoxious fans make it quite easy, then there is FiloV, which his grand delusions who can help people dislike players. It shouldn't be like this, but it is. Look what happens when a top player loses, the sense of whining and entitlement that the worst ones can't accept defeat when it happens, just excuses.

Look at the most liked/most hated list, at the top they are quite similar.

Supporting my favorite players can sometimes be nervewracking, but better that than being bitter or being bored by two relative nobodies playing.

AJ is a lot like Andy Murray. Obnoxious, self-aggrandizing, and easy to hate. Some people are just that way, they're an irritant, so when looking at AJ, think of other irritating players like Murray and Almagro. It's not hard work to dislike someone, it's natural instinct.

It's easier supporting a player, because most people support more than one to some degree. But if a player you dislike is winning everything, it makes you not want to watch. Then again I'm not really stressed per se if a player I dislike is winning, where I'm on the edge of me seat hoping my faves play up their abilities.

It's definitely more stressful to be a diehard fan. Even when I hated Nadal my desire to see him lose wasn't even 10% of my desire to see Roger win every tournament he entered. I get excited when players that I dislike are down in a match, but when they eventually win I'm not sad or disappointed or whatever. When Roger loses, however...

I don't support any of the top players so I'm not sure what it's like
