well, china is big
nah, i when a tournament fills in the file to ATP they have to give indoor facility as a second option
i overheard last year poznan challenger wrote about having the court while they didn't have and they had to rapidly find a solution, they quickly had to sign a deal with an owner of a different object

Thanks for the info. That actually makes sense on behalf of the ATP, who would have thought?

Re: Week 29: An-Ning (Entry List)
Groth hit almost 40 aces. I know he's a serve bot, but that makes it look like the indoor court wasn't clay imo.
Tough luck for Lim Y-K Would've been a great win after so many injuries this year.

I very much doubt this tournament will be returning next year.

Re: Week 29: An-Ning (Entry List)
According to the news in Chinese they've actually moved the location to the tennis courts of a hotel in Kunming, so this is no longer in Anning.
By the online pictures I've seen, it does seem to be hard courts.

Re: Week 29: An-Ning (Entry List)
i found in the rulebook a note that a surface can be changed after making agreements with ATP, but yeah, it probably means this tournament won't be back...
also, i know in some indoor tournaments (ITF) the surface is written "clay" when in fact they play on carpet, which just behaves like clay (or at least it's supposed to...)... tessenderloo in belgium is one for sure
