In a few years MuchMoreOlderer and Oldal as a dedicated doubles team will be awesome.

why not rafa/fed vs nole/Murray 2-3 vs 1-4 more balanced no?

I'd rather see Djoker/Fed against Nadal/Murray, preferably

for sure, the only problem is that Djoker/Fed thing will have to deal with their huge egos, so not sure if it would work out, lol. It's like putting JMac and Borg to play doubles

Any doubles match between the top 4 would result in Djokovic's team losing. He really is a garbage doubles player. Nadal is reasonably competent, and Murray/Federer are both quite good.

Really, none of the top players are exceptional doubles players these days though.

Forgive me, but this "none of the top players are exceptional doubles players these days though." is a load of crap.
If top players gave any importance to doubles, they would clean up at every tournament they've entered.
Once let's say Federer and Nadal decide to team up and take things seriously, I don't see any pair on tour which would stop them.

The most balanced team would be Federer and Murray VS Nadal and Djokovic
16 + 0 = 11 + 5

No, because Nadal is incapable of hitting fast volleys. Not to mention low volleys or half-volleys. You can't be a decent doubles player unless your volleys are exremely good. Baseline grinding is not the way to play doubles.

Federer and Wawrinka regularly get their clocks cleaned by doubles specialists in DC, and they're two very good singles players who play a fair bit of doubles by modern standards.

IF the top singles players took doubles seriously, concentrated on perfecting the skills required, developed their tactics, built their teamwork, THEN they would possibly be quite good. But the point is, they don't. Nadal's net game is regarded as pretty good for a modern singles player, but by doubles standards it's below average. The less said about his transition game, the better. And he is miles superior to Djokovic.

Doubles is a different beast to singles, even more so in the modern game than 20 years ago.
