Halle SF: Federer def. Youzhny 6-1 6-4
Excellent performance outside of the start of the match and until the final 15 minutes. A couple of lapses but the middle of the first set through the middle of the second was class from Roger.

Yes Federer played great until he served for the match at 6-1 5-2.

Really good stuff from Fed for the best part of the match. Went AWOL in the last 3 games but Youzhny did pick it up and played well enough to give the second set the respectability of 4-6
Anyway, congrats Roger, now win the title tomorrow

Well done Rog. Still think he should have tanked and rested but guess Haas/Kohli for the title isn't bad - might as well rack them up.
Nothing this week has made me think he's favourite for Wimbledon though - US Open will be a better shot for him IMO.

Youzhny didn't play well until 5-2 too to say the truth.
The end of the match from 5-2 was very entertaining : very nice points, both players playing very well

Good win for Rogi. Better than yesterday. I expect a much tougher final though.

My stream froze on all 4 (?) matchpoints.

Why on earth would he tank and rest? You do realise Wimbledon doesn't start next Monday? He has a whole week to rest.
I never saw Youzhny troubling Federer here. Haas is the only player left who could do that so I hope he reaches the final
