Default How does Esther Vergeer keep winning?

I am not expert in wheelchair tennis so I am wondering how does Vergeer keep dominating for years and years? I saw she won the final of the French 6-0 6-0. Can nobody close the gap? Is she able to do something that none of her competitors can? She has incredible skill but how does she keep dominating in such an overwhelming fashion? She has not lost since 2003 and has been #1 since 1999.

She's the only top class player in wheelchair tennis, the rest are so far behind her it's not funny/

It's a problem common in disabled sports. Just look at Oscar Pistorius and Natalie du Toit. They're never going to lose to people with the same disability. I mean Natalie du Toit is so good that she's better than most competitive able body swimmers.

"Wheelchair players also tend to fare better when receiving, rather than serving. That is largely because they lack body strength to put behind a serve. Vergeer, however, has partial feeling in her left leg, which gives her more strength and balance on her serve. Consequently, she often holds serve more easily than her opponents."
