Re: Endless Djokovic-Nadal debates
I always thought the difference between Rafa and Djoko before last year was overestimated and that Nole would win big some day, then I thought last year's craze for Djoko, though justified, was a bit exagerated...
So maybe it's a habit I've got, but I suspect a lot of people are reading whole paragraphs out of Montecarlo's single sentence.
Sit back and enjoy the clay season, anything may happen.

Re: Is Djokovic 1.5 good enought to beat Nadal in RG?

However keep in mind that even then Nadal was beaten on Madrid clay which doesnt play like other claycourt tournaments and in Rome which also is not where Nadal is at his unbeatable best.
So, lets reconsider for a moment what Djokovic did last year, even super Djokovic 2011 didnt really beat Nadal on the slower claycourts in MC-Barcelona-RG where Nadal has won 20 times the last 7 years and only lost one time in RG against Soderling when he was possibly injured.
Nadal has never been unbeatable in Hamburg, Rome or Madrid, Federer has challenged him there and so has Coria and even Ferrero beat him there once. He usually loses alot of sets in those tournaments, he is tired from playing 4 tournaments in 5 weeks so there are many factors that work against Nadal and winning against Nadal on the faster claycourts of Rome and Madrid should thereby not count as high as defeating him in MC, Barcelona and RG.
Keep in mind that Nadal has lost 6 sets in 8 Monte Carlos, Nadal has lost 2 sets in 6 editions of Barcelona but in Rome he has lost 14 sets the last 7 times he played Rome.
In Madrid Nadal has lost 7 sets playing Madrid only 3 times, almost as many sets as 14 Barcelona and MC together.
Before anything else is proven, a fit Nadal is unbeatable in MC, Barcelona and RG. What are the odds Djokovic 1.5 can beat him there when it counts in RG final?
|
It's an outdated myth that RG plays like Monte Carlo. It was faster than Rome last year.
Nadal looked anything but unbeatable in Barcelona today.

no, but it's not Nole's fault. Nadal is simply the most boring player to watch.
He's called Nadull for something.

Can Novak become more prominent (successful) player than Rafael?
I mean he's like a 3 slams-man while Rafael is a 1 slam beast.
What do you think?

The quality of the rallies is of an incredible level. In my opinion the best they played was in tthe 3rd set of US Open 2011. Than they reached both incredible high levels.
It is maybe the question if you like rallies, or you like more variety. If you like rallies it certainly has a very high quality. If you like more veriety, you might think back with nostalgic feelings on by example Sampras-Agassi matches.

They're OK. I'll start getting tired of them soon though.

Exactly. For me the enjoyment of tennis is those long rallies with amazing out-of-this-world shots. Consistent high-quality tennis. And these two bring it like no one else can, specially against each other.

The Miami or Indian Wells final was great (i think it was Miami´s), the third set of the US Open was also awesome. The rest was shit.
