I think Djokovic can crush ping pong and badminton's players BHs just fine. And a BH in football is definitely a foul.

That said, Djokovic's is an excellent shot as well. But it's not really that much better than, say, Murray's. The only difference, which is kind of a big win, is that Nole can generate more power off that wing than Murray. In terms of mechanics, angles, etc.. they are not that different.
true but murray still has a better (backhand) slice than djokovic.

overall, given murray's variety in that wing, his backhand > djokovic's backhand.

I have to disagree. Murray does have more variety, but Djokovic exceeds him in two absolutely key aspects: power and (consistent) depth. He can hit through most players with his backhand unlike Murray.

Nalbandian still has a better backhand though, even today. It's just an incredible shot any way you look at it.

Well, this got pretty much the response I was expecting. Nevermind that I am a Nole fan and root for him, watched every match between him and Nadal last year. I'm asking you guys to use your heads, and not just parrot things you've heard. If you watch these ralleys closely, you'll see that Djoker's BH can land short if Nadal can get it deep and high enough.

Yes, this doesn't occur in a vacuum, but many times it'll break the neutrality of a rally, i.e. Djoker is forced to go on the defense due to the somewhat weaker BH he is forced to produce. I believe Djoker has the best BH currently, so this is not a hater or knee-jerk topic, just plain observation. Obviously, if Djoker never hit weaker shots, Nadal would never go on offense or hit winners, which is obviously untrue. So, I am analyzing what leads to Djoker's weaker shots, and that is what I came up with. UE's are what made him lose mostly, I'm simply saying that things aren't as cut and dry as people make them, i.e. Nadal clearly spends at least 40% of time on offense.

Yes, if you hit a winner against Djoker's BH, he won't be able to return it... Good observational skills.

Not a winner, a heavy forehand amidst a neutral rally that causes Djoker to produce a somewhat weaker/shorter BH that leads to Nadal taking control of the rally. Reading comprehension is required.

for example list the exact number of variables involved in hitting each type of topspin and flat backhand---single hander the double hander.

lets try that for starters.

dont worry about the slice for now.

Point is I think Soderling, Berdych, Del Potro, and Safin if he was still playing, are Literally not affected by high topspin to their BH's. Djoker's is better overall than the 1st three at least, but he is affected by high and deep topspin to his BH more, so this is a recurring pattern of play, obvious enough to be brought up. Whereas with say the other players mentioned, Nadal would exploit their movement, rather than stability against ferocious topspin.

And note that due to his extreme western grip, more extreme than Rafa's, Djoker has no problem with high topspin to his FH, he literally smashes them FH style no matter the height. However, his running/defensive FH is weaker than his BH, where he can plant with his left foot and use left arm for stability. There are many factors, and things are not as clear cut as people make them out to be.
