Fantastic. Very good player this Baker. Wow. He believed he could come back. Watching all the guys he used to beat rising up through the ranks gave him hope. I'm already working on a script for this movie. Legend

He plays Kukushkin tomorrow, can he pull another upset ?

... or it would it be even upset, beating Kukushkin ?

With that being said, Monfils had no business being at this event. He could barely move, and was lackadaisical most of the match. Why did he take a WC and potentially injure himself further? Such a stupid decision with RG coming.
I agree with this. While it's a great story and I cetainly root for Baker, Monfils could barely run. Baker hit three or four drop shots that Monfils didn't even move for. Usually, Monfils is running all over the court.

Monfils didn't loose the match, Brian just played awesome tennis. If Monfils was healthy this would have most likely gone to a 3rd set

I remember reading in a previous article that he had already beaten Monfils when he was a junior.

But what problem does Monfils have actually ? He was fit in last weeks

Monfils is literally always injured.

When he performs well he's just less injured than other times.
