Re: Nice R2: Baker def. Monfils 6-3, 7-6(9)
After a hiatus of 4 years he beats Monfils, good clay courter and Frenchman in France Impressive.
Because of his ranking he doesn't participate at Roland Garros I think. That's too bad.

Re: Nice R2: Baker def. Monfils 6-3, 7-6(9)
Bakermania running wild.
Good words at the after match interview admitted he was tight on the previous match points, but didn't lose belief.

2nd serve ace set point down in the breaker @ 9-8* balls of steel.

Re: Nice R2: Baker def. Monfils 6-3, 7-6(9)
Amazing!! He now needs one big scalp at RG and this is movie material for sure. Well done Brian!!
Really really hope he gets a kind draw at RG. Such a shame this guy's career was ruined so much - it's clear he has more court sense and better strokes than a lot of the top US players of recent years - not just the serve and forehand combo that so many rely on. AMAZING claycourt streak too - when's the last time an American won this many claycourt matches consecutively?!

Re: Nice R2: Baker def. Monfils 6-3, 7-6(9)
Great great win, so glad he made it
That 2nd serve ace down 8-9 in the TB was
I'm so glad his story is matched up with a very likable game
Btw, did the stream break down only for me at 9-9 in the TB?
