2 Yes, but the tournament logically preferred to give it to British players rather than some relatively unknown Australian guy.

Pretty disappointing to not see Baker in this main draw. Nottingham 2 is atrocious, particularly compared to the tournament in the same venue the week before.

I think he could have made it to Queen's in time, but he probably decided that since he was still in singles and doubles the day before he would have needed to be on-site in London should he then lose in both draws (that's a 175-kilometer distance), it was a smarter and less rushed decision to stay in Nottingham.

Of course he is a more interesting player to people who follow the sport closely, but I doubt most people in Nottingham would prefer cheering for Matosevic over British players.

In any case, Marinko lost in Q2.

I don't think Jones is an easy opponent, especially on grass. And I think grass might be Marinko's worst surface.

He has time now to find his form on the surface. He's in the doubles draw with Duckworth, so he can have loads of practice sessions all week before heading to Eastbourne Qualies (at least, I presume that's where he'll go).

Kuznetsov does not look good at all right now with the grass. Surprising since I think he won junior Wimbledon so I guess an adjustment period is needed. Ilhan is playing passably well, though.
