I was actually thinking about starting a thread on hockey as well . Great win for Slovakia, was cheering for them. Getzlaf was an anti-hero in that match.

And Finland won as well . I was at the match, incredible feeling when Joensuu hit the winning goal with 9 seconds left to play

I hope Slovakia makes the final, for Demitra . Would you prefer to play Sweden or Czech?

We have Russia next

horrible timing to make a hockey thread when Sweden missed to place in the top4 in WHC for the first time in 12 years.

But you got to admire the Czechs for not taking a single penalty in 60mins of hockey vs probably the best PP in the tournament. Very disciplined. (Or blame the refs, lots of holdings and hookings went uncalled )

Next year when Sweden/Finland is hosting again I hope for cheaper tickets, full crowds and less NHL pros in Sweden. 10-12 are alright. We honestly don't need them when SEL/KHL still are great leagues. Look at USA/Canada too, entire teams of NHLers both eliminated.

A few superstars are good to have but then you just need guys with passion and energy to do the dirty work. Sweden lacked some of that dirty work vs the czechs to annoy them more and lure them to attack with more players or take penalties. Then Sweden and our fancy passing game could get an easy victory

about 700kr for a normal ticket (around $100). 1200+( around $170) for a really good seat. Was even more expensive before they adjusted the prizes when they weren't even close at selling out games and even Sweden's game had many empty seats. Mostly sold ticket packages where it could end up 4000-5000kr ($550-$700) for a family to go. At least they have learned for next year I hope

Also makes no sense charging almost the same prize for groupstage matches like Kazaksthan vs France. Should maybe charge 25% of what they did and fill up the arena instead. Just terrible from the organization. Shame on them

Yeah the tickets have been expensive here as well... Still, I've heard they've had record attendance (in Finland at least). I must admit it was kinda sad seeing all those empty seats at Globen in Sweden's match against the Czechs!

Going to watch the matches today, will root for Finland (obv.) and Slovakia
