I think David is not serious enough looking on the possible good ending of his cariere...
to win some tournament in his age he needs more efforts than when he was younger...

i can compare similar situation (again) of Andre Agassi (but you can do for Federer if you like )...

2 improve his chances after 30 in competition with younger players (like Hewitt, Coria, Nalbandian and others... )Andre started more extensive physical trainings, body building, hired a new coach Daren Cahill (former coach of Hewitt, who was Nr1 at that time...),...
and, what was most impoortant, he really WANTED to be a winner!
and Andre did it: he was Nr1 about two years long (?), won Grand Slams (including French Open in 1999,
Australian Open in three times 2000-2003, last time when he was 33!!!)

we do not see those efforts by David...
otherwise, he is going already long period of time "economically"... without hiring of any tennis trainer...
i think he does not believe himself that he can win...
why David is so passive ?

I remember well he was an ambitious guy when he was younger ...

OK, Andre Agassi played till 36...
Federer plans to go further (he will to beat all Andre's tennis records )

David has still time to improve, and we will hope...
